OPT Workshop
On Tuesday, March 3, from 4:00 pm-5:00 pm, OISS will be
hosting an OPT workshop in the LBC 201-Race Conference Room (Uptown
Campus).

Jazz at the Rat

Jazz at the Rat is a series of live
concerts held on selected Thursday evenings at Der Rathskeller (a.k.a.
"The Rat") at Tulane. Curated by Jesse McBride, the series
features performances by jazz legends and rising stars, comprising of both
visiting artists and outstanding New Orleans-based musicians, accompanied
by students and faculty from Tulane's Jazz Studies program.
World of Wheels

America's Greatest
Hot Rod Show is Back!! World of Wheels features a wide variety of custom
cars, trucks, and motorcycles as well as restored and antique vehicles,
exhibitors, vendors, and thousands of spectators that make this
annual show informative, exciting, and fun! Tickets can be purchased the
day of the show at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome Box Office. For more details

New Orleans Celtic
Festival

New Orleans Celtic
Festival is an annual event dedicated to preserving and promoting the
Celtic heritage & culture here in Louisiana through education, music,
games, piping, dance, and traditional activities as a part of the Irish
culture. There will be many performances and much fun during these three

An Evening of
Dance
featuring Tulane Department of Theater and Dance

Dixon Hall
An Evening of Dance is a performance
featuring guest artists choreographer Jim Lepore and musician Toby Twining.
Faculty works by John Allen, Diogo DeLima and Alice Pascal Escher. Student
works by senior dance majors Emily Apple, Emily Barasch, and Micaela
Woskie.
Admission is $8 for Students, $9 for Tulane Employees, and $12 General

TUCP Presents Hannibal Buress
Monday, March 2, 2015. 8 pm. McAlister Auditorium.
Come see comedy genius Hannibal Buress
perform FREE stand-up in McAlister Auditorium! You may recognize him from
Comedy Central's Broad City or one of his appearances on the Late Show
with David Letterman, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, or Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Hannibal also worked as a writer for both SNL and 30 Rock and has been
noted on several recent Top 10 lists. So mark your calendars, tell your
friends, and come early so you can snag a close seat!

Annual Tulane Athletics 5k
Saturday, March 7,
2015. 8 am - 10 am. Yulman Stadium: Gameday Plaza.
Register for the
7th Annual Tulane Athletics 5k! Registration beings at 6:30 am in the
Gameday Plaza in front of Yulman Stadium. The registration fee is $30 and
benefits the Tulane Athletics Fund, which supports over 300 student-athletes
that proudly represent Tulane in sport, scholarship, and service. All
runners receive a 5k TASC shirt! For more information, please contact

2015 Tulane Black Arts Festival

The Tulane Black Student Union (tBSU) is proud to present
the 2015 Black Arts Festival on Tulane University's campus and at the Ashe'
Cultural Arts Center. This year's festival is themed "A Celebration of
Black Culture, Arts and Entertainment" and features 7 days of events -
all of which are FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. The keynote speaker for this
year’s festival is American film director, Spike Lee. Check out their

India Fest 2015
Sunday, March 15, 2015. 11 am – 4 pm. New Orleans Museum of
Art (City Park).
Come to a Family Celebration inspired by
the art and culture of India. This celebration will include ornamental
Henna, exotic food, children’s activities, Indian dance medley, beautiful
bazaar, and much more. Admission for the museum will also be at a

Karen
Yi Chen is currently a first year undergraduate student at Tulane
University. She is one of the student workers at the OISS.
What
is your favorite thing about being a student at Tulane University?
My favorite thing about being a student at Tulane is having the
opportunity to be on a campus that is integrated into the city. I love how
Tulane and the culture of New Orleans mesh together, and feel very lucky
that I am able to be a part of something so unique.
What
is something you want to do in New Orleans?
Something I want to do during my time here in New Orleans would be to visit
as many art galleries and art museums in the city as possible because New
Orleans is filled with all types of art, and going to different exhibits
will also give me the opportunity to explore different parts of the city.
What
activities are you involved in on campus?
The three biggest things I am involved with on campus are OISS, RHA, and
BCM. I started working as a student worker for OISS at the beginning of the
spring semester. Currently, my biggest tasks are to help write the weekly
digest and to support my supervisor, Ainsley, in any way possible. I
am also a part of the Residence Hall Association. Specifically, I am the
Executive VP of Civic Engagement for JL and Greenbaum. For this role, I
help plan different events for the two halls. The third thing I am very
involved with is the Baptist Collegiate Ministry on campus. We have weekly
gatherings where we fellowship over dinner and then spend time in worship.
