TUPals will be hosting a mentor-mentee meet up to re-purpose all those Mardi Gras Beads we got! We encourage you to bring your Mardi Gras beads, as we will be creating carnival mosaics! Calling all study abroad alumni, international students, professors, and globally-minded Tulanians! Contributors are free to submit their own pitches and ideas, but might start off by thinking about what tourism means in their experience, the impacts of tourism, or navigating the transition between tourist and resident while abroad. International Spouses and Partners English Conversation Program 
The International Spouses and Partners English Conversation Program was created to provide non-credit English instruction to the spouses and partners of Tulane international students, scholars, post-doctoral researchers, faculty and staff. The courses meet on Wednesdays from 12:00-1:00 during the fall and spring semesters. The courses focus on improving students’ English speaking and conversation skills, vocabulary, and understanding of American culture. Click here for specific dates. HAPPENINGS AT TULANETU Legal Assistance Program: Immigration 
Working under the direct supervision of an attorney, law students at TULAP’s Immigration Consultation program will provide bimonthly legal assistance sessions and provide a free initial consultation to individuals seeking immigration advice. Consultations are confidential as mandated by lawyers’ professional code. All Tulane staff, faculty and students seeking immigration advice are welcome to make an appointment with TULAP here. If you are in F, J, H or TN status, please note that the Office of International Students and Scholars is your primary point of contact for questions related to your current status. In the spring of 2017, Tulane University conducted a campus climate survey on sexual violence and harassment for all full-time undergraduate, graduate and professional students. The response was a true demonstration of our community commitment to this issue as nearly half of all Tulane students, 47%, completed the survey – among the highest rates in the nation. The results were released at a Town Hall meeting on 1/31/18. To watch the archived video of the meeting, click here. Following the dedication modeled by our students, the university launched the Wave of Change initiative which promises to seek and implement innovative solutions to sexual violence on campus. One of such solutions is Project IX, a student-driven design thinking project with the goal of bringing the community together to positively impact Tulane culture and approach. Career Workshops: Considerations for International Students 
Co-led by Kabir Hingorani (OISS) and Briana Mohan (OGPS) Project IX: Design To Combat Sexual Assault 
In this 9 week (1 credit) seminar, students will work on multi-disciplinary teams to research, design, and prototype real solutions to be implemented on campus to combat sexual assault. At the end of the semester, students will present solutions to the administration for funding and implementation in Fall 2018. We will meet weekly between February 19th and April 30th on Wednesdays from 6:30pm-8pm. The International School of Louisiana in partnership with Xavier University of Louisiana is excited to invite you to the Chinese New Year Block Party. It will run alongside the farmers market, with Chinese Lion Dance, Beijing Opera, and Chinese traditional music performances. Local restaurants will provide delicious Asian cuisine. Are you an avid reader? Join other book lovers at the Latter Library twice a week! The group hosts sales of books, DVDs, books on tape, LPs and more. Books also are sold at the Algiers Regional Library on Saturday mornings. Congo Square New World Rhythms Festival 
This festival celebrates the historic role of Congo Square as the birthplace of American music. The Tom Dent Symposiums feature panel discussions in topics relating-the mixture of world cultures that took place at Congo Square, as well as the best of African drumming and dance, together with music from Africa, the Caribbean and the American South! Tulane University's Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics is conducting a
research project on osteoporosis. If you are eligible to participate, you would receive at no cost a Bone Health Assessment, which includes a bone density test. Compensation for your time and travel is provided for the one-time, 2-hour visit. We will also validate your parking if needed. Catholic Charities: Volunteering Opportunities with Refugee Service
