Some of this year’s headliners include Aerosmith, Aretha Franklin, Sting, Jimmy Buffet, Beck, Jack White and Lionel Richie. Let’s also not forget to mention all the incredible food vendors that will fill the Fairgrounds like the sought after Crawfish Monica, Mango Freeze and cochon de lait po-boys. Festival-goers can also enjoy art exhibits and some good people watching. Here are some festival tips straight from fest-goers to get you through. Purchase tickets here. Bayou Boogaloo
Bayou Boogaloo features music, food, arts and handicrafts and other sensory delights. It goes on for three days and stages are set up in several widely separated locations so the music on one stage doesn't clash with another. Fest-goers can leisurely stroll about, grab some great New Orleans signature food items and a cold drink and go sit by the waterside and enjoy it, along with the music of some of the city's top bands. Bayou Boogaloo happens right on the banks of Bayou St. John, which gives you plenty of opportunities to enjoy the water. Enjoy the music from a paddleboard or kayak, or canoe your way up to the entrance of City Park. ECLIPSED
Written by Danai Gurira, who starred in the film Black Panther, this drama is about forced “wives” of a rebel leader during Liberia’s 2003 civil war. Emotionally searing and unexpectedly funny, ECLIPSED explores the resilience of survivors and celebrates the resourcefulness of women facing extraordinary circumstances. Presented by Southern Rep; Directed by Malika Oyetimein. Purchase tickets here. ![]() Carlos Rolón: Outside/In ![]()
